This post is about a minor update for the Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin (SCP) for QGIS, version 6.1.1.
This update is mainly related to Landsat preprocessing, in particular for the surface reflectance products.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) provides Level-2 Data Products (surface reflectance) of Landsat images from Landsat 4 to Landsat 8. Level-2 Data Products are produced on demand through the web interface EarthExplorer , and are available for free.
Surface reflectance products provide the best spectral accuracy that is very useful for studies that require the precise comparison of spectral signatures and the land cover classification.
In this updated I have improved the tab Landsat preprocessing in order to allow for the rescaling of Landsat images (Level-2 Data Products) from DN to the actual value of surface reflectance (basically a 0.0001 scaling factor).
This tool requires the .xml metadata file provided in the same directory of the downloaded Level-2 Data Products. After the selection of the input directory the tool works as usual converting all the bands to reflectance. Of course, the DOS1 correction is not available for these products.
